I'm flaxo, I'm currently enjoying life in Türkiye, I'm obsessed with building developer tools, reading, and writing at any given time!
I have some sort of life philosophy that I might be sharing among the writings that I might share in the writings section (and I might not but let's hope I do : )) and I really like pizza and burgers (I guess this is enough personal yap ^_^)
work
I've worked in a lot of different environments, some of which were transportation apps, some of which which were schools, and some of which were developer tools, which I found the most fun building!
I'll be sharing with you stories of two developer tools I've built and open sourced below, hope you enjoy!
RexaDB
It started as a me problem. Other database clients gave me so much trouble that I decided to build my own. I spent a long time on it, maybe more time than those tools were wasting me. That's fine. I think about it this way: if I spend a month building something that later saves me three days every month, I didn't really waste that time. I spent it so that I, and anyone else who needs it, can save time later. That's why I love building developer tools.
I get a little too excited when I write and start drifting off topic, so back to the point. At first I was going to call it OpenDB. Because it began as a SaaS, “Open” didn't feel right, so I named it RexaDB. That's still the name. Marketing it has been hard. In my view, marketing is the hardest part of building an indie app or a SaaS, and I'm still working on it.
Keyring is a very recent project I've built and it was built because I've talked to a lot of friends who got rage baited by building a decent RBAC system for each and every app, and this was for them, it's meant to remove all friction in integrating RBAC systems into any app, and hopefully give the developer a sigh of relief
This is it about me, if you've made it this far, then congrats I really appreciate you going through all this reading, thank you for visiting my portfolio, and hope you have a good day!!
